- Been there, and honestly, it drove me nuts.
- I agree with the tech thing—my last refi, the lender’s portal was so clunky I had to re-upload the same pay stub three times.
- One thing that helped: I kept a running list of every doc I sent and who I sent it to. When they claimed something was missing, I’d just forward the email or screenshot from their own portal. That usually sped things up.
- Not sure if this is everyone’s experience, but I found that calling in the morning (right when they open) got me better results than waiting until later in the day. Maybe the reps are less swamped?
- Pushing for a supervisor can work, but sometimes you just get bounced around. If you do go that route, ask for a direct line or email—makes follow-up way easier.
- Patience is definitely part of it, but you shouldn’t have to chase them constantly. If it feels like you’re getting nowhere, it might be worth checking reviews for your lender and seeing if others are having similar issues lately. Sometimes it’s not just you...
- Last thing: if you’re up against a rate lock deadline, mention it every time you talk to them. That seemed to light a fire under my lender when things were dragging.

Hang in there—it’s frustrating, but you’ll get through it.

Calling right when they open is clutch—I’ve had the same luck. The rate lock thing is real too; I swear they only started moving when I mentioned it was about to expire. Honestly, the whole process feels like a weird endurance test sometimes. Keeping track of docs is smart, though. I just wish these portals worked half as well as my grocery store app...

The portals are such a pain—half the time I’m just guessing if my upload actually went through or not. I’ve had to resend stuff more than once because it “didn’t show up on their end.” The rate lock thing is wild, too. Did anyone else have to re-send pay stubs or bank statements because they “expired” during the wait? I feel like I’m constantly refreshing my email just in case they need something new.

Yeah, I’ve run into that too. It’s like, you upload everything, get the confirmation, and then a week later they’re asking for the same docs again. The “expired” thing with pay stubs is wild—mine were only a month old and apparently that was too old? Makes me wonder if these portals are actually helping or just making things more confusing. I get wanting to be thorough, but it feels like a moving target sometimes.

Honestly, I’ve had to resend bank statements twice because they “couldn’t open the file.” It’s frustrating. The pay stub thing is weird too—mine were three weeks old and they still wanted newer ones. Sometimes I wonder if it’s just a way to stall or if their systems are that clunky. I keep everything scanned and ready now, just in case.
