Honestly, I’ve seen both sides play out. A couple years back, I stretched for a place that checked all my boxes, thinking I’d just “figure it out.” Then the water heater blew and suddenly my emergency fund was toast. It’s wild how fast those curveballs hit. Sometimes I envy folks who keep it simple and have that cushion for life’s surprises... but then again, there’s something about loving where you live that’s hard to put a price on. Guess it really comes down to what kind of stress you’re willing to live with.
